<li>Search over 2,000 indications for the appropriate imaging workup.</li>
<li>Each searchable diagnosis or symptom has a different imaging progression or recommendation based on the unique clinical scenario. For example, Rads Consult provides multiple imaging progressions for the diagnosis of Headache based on patient age, presentation, and other clinical factors.</li>
<li>All recommendations take into account the cost of imaging. The imaging guidance starts with the most cost-effective and best exam first and then progresses to a more definitive and potentially more expensive exam if necessary. If no imaging is warranted, Rads Consult plainly states that imaging is not necessary or that imaging is not as effective as other procedures like Arthrocentesis, Endoscopy, Biopsy, etc.</li>
<li>All recommendations also consider the practicality of imaging. It recognizes that certain Nuclear Medicine exams, such as PET-CT, may not be available at your institution or a patient may not be able to receive IV Contrast. In such cases, next-best-option exams are recommended.</li>
<li>The app provides a comprehensive encyclopedia of radiology exams. Every type of CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc. is listed with common indications and practical considerations. This empowers you to confidently order a Multiphase CT and/or CTA without risking unnecessary radiation exposure and cost, only to later find out that the exam is non-diagnostic.</li>
<li>The app also offers a comprehensive encyclopedia of radiology procedures/interventions. It lists every interventional radiology procedure with common indications and recommended anticoagulation parameters to safely perform each procedure. For instance, Rads Consult will advise you on what minimum labs should be drawn prior to a TIPS procedure and when to withhold Aspirin, Plavix, Coumadin, etc., as well as when to restart anticoagulation medication.</li>
<li>Additionally, the app includes a section on the most common radiology questions and answers. It provides practical recommendations on topics such as when IV and/or Oral Contrast is needed, how to image pregnant or breastfeeding patients, how to manage contrast reactions, how to image patients with renal insufficiency, minimum recommended IV access requirements to administer contrast for CT/CTA and MRI/MRA imaging, and how to determine if a line or tube is appropriately positioned.</li>
